Frequently Asked Questions
In what areas do you see clients?
My home office is located in Northridge. I also see clients in their homes or schools serving the San Fernando Valley (Woodland Hiiks to Studio City & beyond)
When should I seek help for my toddler?
If your child is not doing one or more of the following by 12-15 months, it would be wise to contact me: making eye contact, responding to his/her name, following simple directions, babbling or attempting simple words, playing with toys in a functional and creative way.
What ages do you work with?
Children ages 0-12 years old & their families.
My child has great articulation and understands everything, but is having difficulty expressing herself, what do I do?
This is something we can work on and improve! Your child may be having difficulty processing language components and retrieving and organizing her words to best portray her thoughts or ideas.
What is your treatment approach?
Family & child-centered therapy that treats the entire family unit and the child as a whole, prioritizing what is most important to a family and what will make the child the happiest and most successful in functional communication.
My child can recognize and name feelings but gets emotionally out of control in certain social settings, can you help him?
This area is often overlooked and can definitely be taught, practiced and applied by understanding the relationship between emotions and verbal/non-verbal communication in relation to your peers and ‘social audience’. Your child may be having difficulty with social-emotional regulation — his ability to take perspective, problem solve, adjust behaviors to match contexts and manage “big” feelings and their effects on other people.
